BORACAY ISLAND


Boracay is a tropical island, one of the most popular tourist destinations here in the Philippines. Boracay is the original home of the Ati or negrito, a native group of people in Panay.

There are two seasonal whether pattern in Boracay, the “Amihan” or the cool northeast wind which is characterized by moderate temperature. The other one is the “Habagat or west or southwest wind with hot and humid weather, regular rainfall and wind from the west.

The island is comprised by the barangay of Manoc-Manoc, Balabag and Yapak (the three of the seventeen barangays to complete the municipality of Malay.

During Amihan season is where they’re tourist boost and at its peak. White beach is the main tourism area in Boracay. There are so many activities you can do in Boracay like wind surfing, kite boarding/kite surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and most of all relaxation.

To get there you can either travel by air or by sea. There are two airports in Aklan, the Kalibo International Airport and the Caticlan Airport.
